“Concert in the Wild” presents a very special one on Saturday, June 12th, 2021
Chamber music concert.
The fascinating program spans an arc from the delicate music of the baroque to classical music
on neo-romanticism and contemporary classical music with works by Abel, Bach, Chausson, Danielpour, Delibes,
Previn and Crumb. A thematic focus can be found in the title of George Crumbs
Piano masterpiece "Macrocosm". In every work in the program you will find topics from which one
could say that they articulate the connectedness, the music about time, culture, language and space
away.
Our wonderful musicians come from some of the most renowned ensembles in Berlin and all over
Germany. The cellist Katharina Feltz and the double bass player Jesper Ulfenstedt are both active
Soloists, chamber musicians and members of the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin. The pianist Ya-ou Xie
works as a concert pianist, conductor and one of the founding members of "Berlin PianoPercussion"
http://berlinpianopercussion.com. Spinto soprano Leah Gordon has won numerous awards for her song-
and opera interpretations in many international opera houses and concert halls. She is happy
set out to sing Elisabeth in "Tannhäuser", which will be one of her first appearances after the pandemic
becomes. Mezzo / Contralto Jennifer Arnold is also an internationally celebrated stage veteran of opera,
Lied and chamber repertoires. She will perform the song cycle "Sweet Talk" by Richard Danielpour,
which she premiered with Yo-Yo Ma and later sang for President Clinton when she was a student
Conservatory of Music in New York City, NY.
The location of the concert is the beautiful garden of a large villa in Berlin Westend. The owner has it
Kindly allowed to use this room for open air concerts. For that very special one

Jugend Dirigiert
ist wieder zu Gast in der Philharmonie, dieses Mal mit Solistinnen und bekannten Scores aus Star Wars und Harry Potter.
Lassen Sie sich eine Welt aus Traum und Wirklichkeit entführen.
„Die Summe unseres Lebens sind die Stunden, wo wir lieben.“ sagte bereits der Dichter Wilhelm Busch vor bald 200 Jahren… Um jedoch Lieben zu können bedarf es vor allem der Selbstachtung. Das wird gerade bei jungen Menschen oft vergessen.
Selbstachtung bzw. Selbst-Bewusstsein wiederum entsteht aus der Anerkennung, die einem von VIELEN MENSCHEN gezollt wird…
Diese Selbstachtung kann man üben, besonders wenn man das Auge dafür geöffnet bekommt, dass die Art, „wie man ist“, gut ist – und etwas bewirkt. Genau hierauf fokussieren die Übungen von „Jugend dirigiert“ zu aller erst! Das Orchester ist eben jenes Plenum aus vielen Menschen, welches ein Feedback gibt und zeigt, ob man auf dem richtigen Weg ist.
Wir zeigen Kindern und Jugendlichen spielerisch-musikalisch den Weg auf, wie sie über die Gesetzmäßigkeiten der Musik auch zu sich selbst finden. Das ist ebenso wichtig wie tosender Applaus. Wenn ein Kind, ein junger Mensch, einen Weg zu sich gefunden hat, spiegelt sich das nicht nur in der Dirigier-Haltung (siehe Video) sondern in einem umfassenden authentisch souveränen Auftritt wieder.

Jennifer Arnold
Mezzo-soprano
A graduate student at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City with a Masters degree in Music, she received the Birgit Nilsson Award Scholarship, a full scholarship, for the duration of her Masters degree and had the privilege of working with Yo-Yo Ma at the Kennedy Center Library to appear for former President Bill Clinton.
In 2003 she was nominated alongside Anna Netrebko by the international opera magazine Opernwelt as singer of the year for her portrayal of Carmen under the direction of Johannes Felsenstein.
Sonja Isabel Reuter
Lyric soprano
Sonja Isabel Reuter from Frankfurt am Main. Singing training at Dr. Hoch's Conservatory, the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin.
Scholarship from the Bernt-Rohrer
Foundation for “Outstanding Artistic Skills” award for young talent from the Richard Wagner Association in Leipzig and a 2020 finalist at
National singing competition.
Dr. Alexander Saier
Gründer & Dirigent - Jugend Dirigiert
Saier studierte Schlagzeug (mit Kernfach Pauke) bei Lukas Lindmeier in Basel und auch Markus Wolf in Freiburg. 1998 brach er das Instrumentalstudium zu Gunsten von Musikpädagogik und Musikwissenschaft ab. Angeleitet durch seinen Mentor Prof. Gernot Schulz, Solo-Schlagzeuger der Berliner Philharmoniker) fokussiert sich Alexander Saier bald auf Musikpädagogik und studierte in Berlin, Wien und Halle (Saale) Musikwissenschaft. Im Jahre 2002 wurde er mit dem Orff-Preis ausgezeichnet.
Nach einem kurzen Stopp als Mitarbeiter von Rainer Cadenbach an der Hochschule der Künste in Berlin begann Alexander Saier mehr und mehr zu unterrichten, bis er Jahre 2008 ganz in den Schuldienst wechselte.
Im Jahre 2009 beendete er seine Dissertation bei Wolfgang Auhagen und Sebastian Klotz in Halle an der Saale mit Auszeichnung und begann für die Stiftung Würth eine Musikabteilung an der Freien Schule Anne-Sophie in Berlin aufzubauen. Dort entwickelt er Projekt „Jugend dirigiert.“
